SOMEDAY
From, The Female Paradox: Poems
Someday she will pack
a bag or two and leave this
place forever.
Someday she will climb
aboard a train and ride to
destinations unknown.
Someday she will stare you
down and not be afraid to
hold eye contact.
Someday she will walk with her head
held high and smile knowing that she
has all of the answers.
Someday all of her anxiety and
frustrations will be things of the
past and she can finally breathe
without hesitation marks.
Someday when she goes to speak,
people will actually listen to what she
has to say. They will digest all of
her thoughts as nourishment and never
dismiss her ideas as irrelevant.
Someday when someone or something makes
her angry, she will allow her sparks to fly and
let it be known that her cage has been rattled.
She is blossoming.
She is blooming.
She is becoming, and who knows,
her someday just might be
tomorrow.
